Why raw?
I think that a major reason my cleansers go so far beyond others is that I don't jack around with what nature/god/goddess gave us. I believe there is great wisdom in the exact chemical composition of a whole plant.
Other companies use "extracts" in their skincare. These extracts are not the full biological array of chemicals and vitamins found in that plant. They are often the white bread of the plant.
ONE chemical to rule them all!!?? That's ridiculous. Other companies are also extracting single chemicals from plants and selling you all the jive that THIS is THE chemical that makes this plant work for you. That's a half-load of crock.
Single chemicals in plants can be super-heros, but not on their own!!! When we isolate single chemicals, things can go wrong, or things can just not go as amazingly as they would if that chemical had all the other important micronutrients that are supposed to go with it for absorption and balance and utilization in the body.
How Concentrated?
I literally put zero ingredients in my products that bulk them up. I do have to "dilute" these full strength herbs for a couple of reasons, but I don't "dilute" them with things are aren't extremely useful and important for your skin.
- Oatmeal cleanses your skin with natural saponins (a cleansing soap-like chemical). It also reduces any inflammation, which allows the skin to focus on healing.
- Sucanat sugar - an amazing source of Alpha-hydroxy acid to deep clean your pores. It also supplies important nutrients to your skin: potassium, Vitamin A, calcium, and magnesium.
- Himalayan Salt - can be a wonderful acne treatment (think of how great your skin is after an ocean dip) and provides needed mineral micronutrients.
- Aloe Vera - there should be no skin regimen without this well-known healer of all skin ails. I can't even begin to summarize her wealth.
- Yucca Root - I included Yucca in all cleanser formulas because it's another amazing source of saponins for cleansing and is another amazing inflammation reducer. Also high in vitamin C
From these base ingredients, you can choose an already made formula, or add your own custom herbs to Melee Cleanser or to Georgia Sweet Cleanser (the salt-free formula).
