"Dear Courtney..." Protocol for 1st time Cystic Acne Client

Dear Courtney. I am a brand new Brazen Bee client with sensitive skin and cystic acne, what do you recommend?

Courtney: Cystic acne is often the trickiest acne to clear, I'm sure you're well-aware! We need to start with extreme gentleness.

Lots of other companies come at cystic acne like it's an immediate battle. I have found that that usually makes it worse and isn't what the skin wants or needs. The skin is already angry, a battle isn't what we want.

The two things I would like you to start with are

  • Georgia Sweet Cleanser with options added: Comfrey, Coffee, Barley Grass, White Willow bark.
  • SHU Healing Moisturizer .

I just want you to use these two things and nothing else for the next 2 weeks.

Cleanse once a day at night and apply moisturizer twice a day.

I usually advocate for a toner right away, but not for you! Sometimes the skin isn't ready for the extra herbs in my toners.

Our goal here is complete calming and healing by improving the quality of the skin. We aren't trying to "kill" the acne. We are supporting your skin to do it's job of healing itself and not letting the acne form in the first place.

These two products should see a big difference in a matter of days. Even if we don't have significantly less acne yet, you should feel "wow" when you touch your face because you can tell it's smoother and more supple.

After two weeks:

we can introduce

  • Chally Ha Oil cleanser.
    • I don't even want you to oil cleanse with it yet. I want you to apply it as your moisturizer in the morning and see how that goes. We are acclimating the skin to these new oils. After a few days of that, go for a oil cleanse every few days. If oil cleansing causes more acne- we gotta stop. This is the case for SOME people with cystic acne. For some people it clears it up beautifully, but for a few cases, it actually makes it worse.

Check back in with me for another FREE consultation in about 4 weeks, and we will go from there.
